Our attention this week, goes to Beth Pollak and Delphine McNeill, founders of the luxe T-shirt brand Livotte London (@livottelondon).
They're wives, mothers and entrepreneurs.“If you want something done right, do it yourself." they say.
Let's meet them.
- Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do? We’ve worked in fashion for a combined 30 years in every aspect from wholesale to PR, editorial and runway shows.
- When did your journey start? Our journey started in 2014 when our daughters Livvy and Charlotte (now 5 years old) were born. We had a lot in common straightaway as we both had careers in fashion in New York and had a need for a great wardrobe staple to take us through our day.
- What’s the idea behind your business? Livotte is the t-shirt…elevated. Our collection is made in London, our bespoke fabric is organic combed cotton with a touch of Lycra. Our tops have been professionally tested to withstand hundreds of washes and last a lifetime. Our tops are wardrobe staples for women to pair with their designer pieces and fit easily into their wardrobe.
- Do you have a personal life motto? “If you want something done right, do it yourself." - What is your main struggle in being female entrepreneurs? We don’t struggle but we are wives, mothers and entrepreneurs so we are time poor. That being said, we are very efficient. - How do you overcome it? We set a to do list, we divide and conquer and we prioritise. - What was your biggest professional achievement during your entrepreneur journey? A few months after our launch we were featured in The Times by Anna Murphy. In a world that is focused on bloggers and influencers we were flattered to be featured by a journalist with a tremendous reputation. - What was your biggest personal achievement? Growing our business while being great mums! - What is the greatest lesson you've learned from being an entrepreneur? Rome was not built in a day, it takes time and perseverance. - How do you find inspiration on an average day? Do you have any rituals? We are inspired by women in history-what they wore and what they achieved. All of our tops are named after style icons past and present. - Who’s the female entrepreneur or leader that you admire the most and why? Oprah Winfrey epitomises hard work, dedication, and an everything is possible attitude. - How do you advertise yourself as an entrepreneur? Our product speaks for itself, it’s authentic and has integrity as do we. - How did social media help you to promote your business? It’s given us a platform to reach a wider audience and invite others to discover Livotte. - Do you have any advice to give to the new female entrepreneurs? Just do it and go with your gut but be prepared to hustle!
Thank You! :)
